📜 Terms of Use

Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, to any person obtaining a copy of the software, hereinafter referred to as "the software," to use the software, but not to sell or redistribute the software under the same name, subject to the following conditions outlined below.

Software "As Is"

The software is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The authors and copyright holders make no representations or warranties regarding the functionality, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of the software.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise, arising from, out of, or in connection with the software or the use or other dealings in the software.

Content Ownership and Responsibility

Shiru does not host, distribute, or provide any media content. It is a bring-your-own-content application designed for managing and playing media that you legally own. Users are solely responsible for:

  • Obtaining their own content through legal means
  • Complying with all applicable local and international laws
  • Adhering to the terms of service of any third-party services they use in conjunction with this application

The authors and copyright holders accept no responsibility for how the software is used or for any content played through it.

Use at Your Own Risk

The user acknowledges that the software facilitates the downloading and uploading of files using peer-to-peer protocols. The authors and copyright holders are not responsible for any consequences or events arising directly or indirectly from the use of the software, including but not limited to data loss, system damage, legal ramifications, network exposure, or any other unforeseen incidents.

Users are encouraged to understand the implications of peer-to-peer networking before use. See the Privacy Policy for details on what data is exposed by the protocol.

No Resale

The user is not permitted to sell the software, in whole or in part, to any third party.

No Redistribution Under the Same Name

The user is not permitted to redistribute the software under the same name or branding. Any redistribution must be done under a different name or identifier and must comply with the terms of the GPLv3 License.

Updates to Terms

These terms of use may be updated at any time without notice. It is the user's responsibility to review these terms for any modifications. Continued use of the software after any such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
